Our approach to reducing emissions

Reducing emissions will always come before compensating for them.

We regularly review every part of our business to identify opportunities to lower our environmental impact, including:

One of the biggest ways a product can reduce its environmental impact is by lasting longer.

Every Micro Scooter is designed with longevity in mind.

Unlike many children's scooters, replacement parts are available for almost every wearable component, helping families repair and maintain their scooters rather than replacing them.

This approach helps:

  • extend product life
  • reduce waste
  • keep products in use for longer
  • support a more circular approach to consumption

Because the most sustainable product is often the one you don't have to replace.

The potential impact of choosing active travel

The figures below illustrate the potential emissions savings when large numbers of short car journeys are replaced with scooting. They are estimates produced by Carbon Neutral Britain using specific assumptions about travel behaviour and should be viewed as illustrative examples rather than guaranteed outcomes for every journey.

School journeys

Carbon Neutral Britain estimate that around 100,000 children scoot to school each day.

Where these journeys replace trips that would otherwise have been made by car, they estimate this could avoid approximately 6.8 million kg of CO₂e emissions each year.

That is estimated to be broadly equivalent to:

  • approximately 300,000 trees absorbing carbon over one year
  • around 5,200 long-haul passenger flights
  • approximately 20,000 m³ of Arctic sea ice preserved through avoided emissions

Short commutes

Around half of UK commuters travel less than three miles to work.

Carbon Neutral Britain estimate that if these short journeys were completed by scooter instead of car where practical, this could reduce emissions by approximately 4.77 million tonnes of CO₂e each year.

They estimate this is broadly equivalent to:

  • the annual carbon absorption of approximately 227 million trees
  • avoiding around 2,000 miles of petrol car driving for each participating commuter each year
  • emissions associated with approximately 55 meat-based meals
